15 Prominent changes I’ve experienced at BATU

It is said, “Variety is the spice of the life!” But the spices may not always please your taste buds; at times it may even ruin the taste! Things may be annoying, but those who adapt the changes quickly, survival isn’t really an issue for them.
Here I’m listing down some prominent changes which I’ve experienced during my engineering life. The word “change”, refers to social, cultural, physical variations.
1. The most noticeable changes occurred in the autorikshaws! During 1st year those people charged mere `.5/- for college-phata run carrying at the most 4 passengers. But now, the scene is miserable. The rikshaw is loaded with 6 people (What the hell!!!) & the fare has been hiked to `. 7/-.
2. During 1st year, passing was 6.0 & distinction was 7.75, but due to efforts by few (social workers-cum-students!), it reduced to 5.5 and 7.5 respectively.
3. There were continuous changes in exam pattern. It seems that the current pattern for the 1st year students would work out to be worth.
4. In 1st year, people were not much foodie, but as the taste of the food kept on deteriorating, the choices emerged out and obviously the ‘Taparis’ excelled.
5. Cell phones have become an integral part of students’ lives (though the purpose varies!).
6. Few people have become music maniac. Especially the English sound tracks are on a boom!
7. The sleeping hours keep on increasing as you move on. Contrary is the case for studies!
8. Over the years (4 years), students have learnt what life is. Perhaps, BATU has given everyone buddies for lifetime.
9. The continuous hikes in petrol price have been really annoying. But, it couldn’t affect the rides!
10. The frequency of parties kept on increasing significantly. During final year, I’ve been a part of celebrations without any reason! But, the things done this way brought an eternal smile on my buddies’ faces which is indeed priceless!
11. Pet names have got good market all the way! In fact, it has become the popularity index.
12. The attendance goes on declining as the years pass by! But, few students don’t change in this aspect, they maintain poor attendance throughout.
13. The students have explored few great spots in the building. The students section, noisy court, silent court, space near ATM center, canteen have been the ‘areas’ of interest!
14. BATU has given the strength to tackle any kind of environment, food habits, and people. So, survival in the world outside isn’t going to be tough. Probably this is the biggest asset for the students which will be useful for the lifetime.
15. Students used to curse the university and the place in the initial stage. But at the end of the day, they’ve understood that it’s the people that make a place worth living. So, now they are reluctant to move their feet off this holy place.
